CLAC Group Sponsor
Take the stress out of apprenticeship and make it a rewarding experience—for you and your workers.
Ensuring a positive experience for all involved in the apprenticeship pathway can be challenging. The good news is that Group Sponsor is here to help.
Our Apprenticeship Team ensures that both apprentices and employers like you benefit from the wealth of resources CLAC has available, including:
Support for Employers
For over 70 years, CLAC has been committed to providing valuable guidance and support to apprentices and employers. Our team supplies numerous wraparound supports for your apprentices to help them excel on the job site, from access to experienced mentors and trainers, to in-class supports, to assistance when job seeking.
Our team realizes that employers like you also need support to ensure you receive the maximum value possible. We provide recruitment and assessment activities, financial guidance to maximize government grants and incentives, relief from the administrative burden of the apprenticeship pathway, and help navigating Skilled Trades Ontario, MLITSD, and the network of Ontario trade schools, to help ensure your journey as an employer of apprentices is smooth.
Support for your Apprentices
So you’ve taken on your next apprentice—great! It’s a step that will help improve both your workforce and Canada’s skilled labour shortage, and one you should be proud of.
Unfortunately, completing an apprenticeship can be daunting. In fact, only half of apprentices who begin the apprenticeship pathway successfully complete it.
Individuals are more likely to be successful if they feel supported and part of a group. Our Apprenticeship Team aims to provide a level of service that helps apprentices build relationships and share knowledge and best practices.
CLAC also realizes that being a journeyperson responsible for mentoring apprentices can be stressful. This is why we provide supports like the Supervisor Micro-Certification Program, a course that teaches journeypersons how to be effective, people-centric leaders, which aids productivity and workplace culture and leads to apprenticeship retention.
